What's the purpose of a surgeon's mask?

When I ask most people in Tulsa this, most think it protects the patient from the doctor's germs. But it's so porous it does little to prevent the passage of germs. We chiropractors don't bother with masks.

Why are chiropractors wary of the germ theory?

Louis Pasteur originated the idea that germs caused disease. Yet, on his deathbed he recanted, declaring, "It's not the seed, but the soil." Meaning, it's not the germ that causes disease, but the condition of the body that allows the germ to thrive. Chiropractic care in our Tulsa office is designed to bolster your resistance so germs don't see you as a good host.

I am a second generation chiropractic physician...it's what I was created for.  Chiropractic and wellness is all I've ever known.  Our family has "lived" the wellness model, and now that I am a father of two, my children also enjoy the benefits!

I graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic in 1991.  Logan is in my opinion, one of the most "balanced" schools in the country.  It is very solid in diagnostic evaluation of the patient, while maintaining exceptionally high standards in technical instruction.  This was verified after I had completed my Oklahoma State Boards, the president  of the Oklahoma State Board of Chiropractic Examiners called my hotel room.  His purpose for the call was to acknowledge the quality of my education at Logan College both in the medical and chiropractic arenas.  Knowing the diversity of schools represented, that was quite a compliment!  I knew at that time my loan money had been spent wisely!

Our reputation has been instrumental in our success.  Honest, personal, integrity, Christian, patient-centered interaction with all our patients.  Impact Chiropractic Clinic in Broken Arrow is not only a place for our community to receive help for their physical bodies, but a place of ministry as well.  A place where our patients can receive hope and encouragement- we deposit life into people.

My wife, Lori, is a physical therapist, and we have two incredible kids, Tyler and Chloe!  When we both aren't working, we are travelling to soccer tournaments -- Tyler lives, eats, and breathes the stuff!  We're fortunate to get to work, school, or church...soccer, at times, is life.

In order to "coach" others as they entrust their healthcare with me, it is mandatory that I lead by example.  I personally receive chiropractic care 1-2 times per week, as does my family.  I either run or exercise on an elliptical trainer 2-3 days per week in addition to weight training three days per week.  Nutritional supplements are a daily routine in our house- yes, even the kids!

Medically I believe we are very balanced.  God created pharmaceuticals for a purpose.  When these medications are used sparingly and appropriately they can bring tremendous relief and even save lives.  Balance, in every area of life is a beautiful thing!
